The Chat Must Go On....

Photochat was born in 2005 when Jay and Lara's newly forming friendship was interrupted

by Lara's abrupt move from Canada to China. They opted not to let the fledgling friendship go and continued getting to know each other through the language of their shared art-form in photography rather than traditional phone calls or letters. Without scripting or provocation the image exchanges became as synchronized as typical conversations. Uncanny to say the least.

This pandemic and the state of the world continue to erode our social comforts, propagating isolation as an increasing norm. We hope the theme of the next visual conversation will remind us all to keep anchored to community and nurture the individuals in our lives who make life worth living, who fill us with hope, and love.
